Pottery Classes at Freret Clay Center
Freret Clay Center offer classes in hand-building and the potter's wheel. Classes are open to beginners and experienced ceramic artists. Classes are held on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 in our brand new building near Freret St. Fee is $250 for six weeks, and includes: instruction, tools, first bag of clay, glazing and firing your work. The concept of assemblage has been the guiding light in Tomís creative development since 1968. In concert with Halloween festivities around the city and Gallery I/Oís 25th Anniversary, we are hosting a workshop that celebrates the exploration and practice of the art of assembling unusual objects in pursuit of new embedded and revealed stories. The Arts Council of New Orleans is pleased to offer a menu of Arts Business Development workshops that your can bring to your community. These workshops are each approximately two hours in length and cover topics such as arts marketing, board development, intellectual property, photographing artwork, fundraising and more. All workshops are presented by Arts Council staff, and pricing begins at $400 plus travel.
