Arts Council Workshop: Stylish Email Design and Strategy


On Thursday, September 16th at 6:00 p.m., join the Arts Council and Casey McCormick of Emma Email Marketing for our latest workshop Stylish Email Design and Strategy . This workshop covers the basics of email marketing. We'll share best practices and strategies for building a permission-based list, an overview of what folks are sending, and some discussion of statistics and response numbers and how they're used. There will lots of example emails, with plenty of time along the way for your thoughts and questions. Specific items to be covered include:
  • How do I inspire people to join my list?
  • How do I focus my email strategy?
  • What should I send?
  • How do I add style to my campaigns?
  • What do those response numbers mean, anyway?
  • Plus your questions!

On Wednesday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m. Join Tim Ryan, Executive Producer of New Digital Media Group and former Executive Director of NOVAC, As he demonstrates how the individual artist or arts organization can use web based video to communicate their message. Issues Tim will address include:
  • Examples of how others use Internet video for website content enhancement.
  • Basic shooting, sound, lighting techniques with Internet viewing in mind.
  • Basic editing techniques.
  • Basic techniques for how to use Internet video within your PR, emails and website.

On September 29th at 6:00 p.m., join the Arts Council and Allison Petit for our latest workshop Basic PhotoShop for Artists. Designed for newcomers to PhotoShop, and tailored specifically for artists, this workshop will demonstrate:

New Orleans Writing Institute at the Arts Council

Registration begins August 31

The New Orleans Writing Institute at the Arts Council (formerly the Loyola Writing Institute) will offer a twelve-session workshop in writing fiction and creative nonfiction taught by the widely-published writer James Nolan. The workshops meet from September 15-December 8 on Wednesday evenings between 6:30-9:00 at the Arts Council at 818 Howard Ave, Suite 300. TUITION: $495.
